How to Become a Contestant
Miss Contestant Requirements
Be between the ages of 17 and 24.
Be a United States citizen.
Meet residency requirements for competing in a certain town or state.
Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America Organization.
Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements.
Be able to meet the time commitment and job responsibilities as set forth by the local program in which you compete.
Teen Contestant Requirements
Be a young lady between the ages of 13 and 17.
Be a United States citizen.
Meet residency requirements for competing in a certain town or state.
Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America's Outstanding Teen Organization
Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements.
Be able to meet the time commitment and responsibilities as set forth by the local program in which you compete.
Must not be eligible to compete in the Miss America Competition.

The Miss South Carolina Organization is holding a one day Miss South Carolina Observer School on Friday, July 3rd. On this day, potential miss and teen contestants will get an orientation to the Miss South Carolina competition including information about the pageant, preparation tips, and will end with being a guest that night at the Miss South Carolina competition.
